Birthday Wishes

Hi friends!  Just wanted to share a quick birthday card.
Linda Carson, MFT
I never buy stamping kits but couldn't pass up this one from My Favorite Things.  Thought I needed to update by birthday stash.
It cannot be purchased as a kit now but you can still get the stamps and dies individually.  All dies used are MFT.
Thanks for visiting friends!  Your visits and comments are truly appreciated!

Happy New Year friends!!  I've started the New Year by cleaning my craft room!  It's not a resolution.  It's a necessity!
I failed to post this last minute Christmas card.  Actually it was a thank you for my sister-in-law to go with her present.
She is a blessing to me because she takes my Mom to her doctor's appointments.  I live with chronic pain and can't always do it.
Linda Carson, Honey Bee
I didn't have time to color so I grabbed this new Blessing(s)(ed) die from Honey Bee Stamps.
I just love this technique of adding layers to a die.  I used red underneath so no matter how you held the card you could see the festive red layers.
Adding a few sequins completed the card.  It was fast and easy.
Thanks for dropping by!  Here's to a creative 2017!!

Partridge in a Pear Tree

Hello friends!  I have one more Christmas card to share.  This one is a digital image from Power Poppy, Partridge in a Pear Tree.

Linda Carson, Power Poppy
After coloring with Copics I thought, now what?  I do that all the time.  I'm awful about do I leave it clean or add some blue or what?  Well, this time I pulled out all the stops!  Not only did I add a blue shadow but took Delicata ink to a stencil and enhanced the image. You'll also see gold dots within the stenciled stars.
The red berries are covered with Glossy Accents.  The patterned papers are Our Daily Bread Designs.  Dies include ODBD and MFT.
I posted this card on Instagram and to my surprise it showed up on the Power Poppy blog!! I was amazed and proud!!
Thanks for visiting!  Until next time...stamp on!!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!  I couldn't let this day go by without wishing you a very Merry Christmas.  I hope you had a wonderful day with family and friends as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus!
We got together as a family Friday night at my brother's who lives here in town.  So glad we don't have to travel.  He has 13 grandchildren from ages 13 to 4 days!  The place was wild and so much fun and laughter!
Here's one of my festive Christmas cards.
Linda Carson, WPlus9
I fell in love with these Holiday Houses from WPlus9 when I saw them on Instagram.   This card is a CASE of one by Jo Nevill.  I changed several things but the inspiration came from Jo.
The sentiment with foliage is Be Merry also from WPlus9.
The Birch Tree window die is from Simon Says Stamp.  I outlined the trees with a Copic marker and added snowflakes with a white gel pen.  The rest is water colored using Zig Clean Color markers.  As you can tell I need a lot more practice with these markers but I sure had fun coloring.  Sticklers was added to the rooftops.
Slopes were added using My Favorite Things dies.
Again I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

Hello again!  Since I've been on Instagram I've found new to me stamp companies.  This card is from one of them, Altenew.  The set is Simple Flowers along with Smile.
Linda Carson, Altenew
The ink is Shades of Purple by Altenew.  I'm really impressed with this company.  The inks are work great on sentiments too.  Here I thought only Versafine worked for sentiments.
I added several layers to the smile for dimension and sequins just for fun.  The frame die is MFT.
I hope you have reasons to smile today!  I do when you visit and leave comments!  Have a wonderful day!

25th Wedding Anniversary

Today is our 25the Wedding Anniversary!
After being widowed for a couple of years I prayed about a husband.  I prayed that if God didn't want me to remarry that's fine but just in case He did I would like a husband who loved to fish, golf and had no children.  I wanted children of my own.  He also had to be a Christian.  That's all I prayed for.
About a month later, maybe less, a mutual friend set us up on a blind date.  I had only 1 blind date in my life and it was horrible beyond belief!!  Well, I thought about that date but decided that maybe this time would be better and I would at least make a new friend.
When I opened the door and saw him my first thought was, "I'm in trouble now!"  Here stood my answer to prayer!  He was everything I prayed for and even more I didn't!
Six months later we were married.  We married on a Wednesday night after church so anyone who wanted to stay could stay.  I worked there so a lot of people stayed and more friends/family showed up.  The church was decorated for Christmas so it was really a beautiful service.
Thank you Lord for answering my prayers more than I could ever think or ask!

Stinky Friends

I bet that title got your attention!  This Little Stinker from Neat & Tangled was too cute to pass up.
Linda Carson, Neat&Tangled
Thought to myself that a black/white card would go good with a skunk so I used the MFT chevron fringe die for the rows.   Sometimes I amaze myself with these brilliant ideas!
Throw in some sequins, yarn, some odor and a pop of color and you have it!!  Easy and fun!
I think it would stink if you didn't have a wonderful week my friends!  Thanks for visiting!!
